~ Happy reading ~
The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco
Most of the time I read a book and watch the film afterwards. Here it has been the other way round. The film is really good and the cast is fantastic. So I thought the book can't be any better. It took me years to pick it up and read it. And - surprise, surprise - the book is even better than the film.
The Name of the Rose has been a book I couldn't read in the dark because every sound got creepy while reading. But it's a book you can't put down neither. So I was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea and read the 650 pages (of the German edition) in less than three days. It is a wonderful historical novel and a beautifully written book. Eco gives you something to think about and his story is thrilling as hell.
